CFCLA currently own or manage over 600 container wagons, with an anticipated 100-200 wagons being manufactured in 2007, by various Australian and overseas workshops.  This large build program may also include 5-pack skels and well wagons.

The fleet of container wagons range from solid deck to skeletal, with lengths varying from 40ft to 85ft - capable of carrying 20ft, 30ft, 40ft, 48ft and 53ft containers. Double stacking west of Adelaide has also occurred utilizing CFCLA wagons.

Many of the container wagons have a low deck profile of 1020-1040mm, and are fitted with high speed 70t ride control or crossed braced bogies, allowing speeds up to 115km/h.

Over 50% of the container fleet is less than 6 years old, with another 10% of the fleet being constructed in 2006. CFCLA is dedicated to providing economical wagons with a high capacity and low tare weight, allowing maximum efficiency in moving containerized goods.
